George Mason University Athletic Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 12
In a dual that came down to the final match, the Rider Broncs defeated the George Mason wrestling team, 21-13, tonight inside the RAC. The Patriots drop to 9-7 and 3-4 in the MAC with one dual remaining this season. The Broncs improve to 3-8 and 3-4 in the MAC.
George Mason won four of the first nine matches, with wins by Alex Madrigal (149), Avery Bassett (157), Kyle Davis (184), and Jon List (197) and trailed by only two points, 15-13, heading into the heavyweight match. List had won with a takedown in sudden victory to get the Patriots within reach, but Rider's David Szuba earned a fall against Austin Stith to secure the match.

- Graduate student Alex Madrigal improved to 18-3 on the season with a major decision against Rider's Bryan Miraglia, 9-1.
- Mason's Avery Bassett notched his 20th win with a 8-2 decision against Rider's Cole McComas. The freshman has a 20-7 record and has won six straight matches and improved to 5-1 in the MAC.
- Senior Kyle Davis won his sixth straight match and improved to 6-1 in the MAC.
- Jonathan List earned his ninth win in sudden victory with a quick takedown of Azeem Bell, 3-1
