The Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse team secured a 9-4 victory over the High Point Panthers on March 17, marking their third consecutive win.

The game began slowly for Virginia Tech, with the team’s first goal coming more than 11 minutes into play from Sarah Murrell. Both teams displayed strong defensive efforts in the first half, each committing nine turnovers. At halftime, the Hokies trailed High Point by a score of 3-1.

Early in the third quarter, Reese Wallich scored for Virginia Tech on a free position attempt. The Panthers responded quickly with their fourth and final goal of the game. From that point forward, Virginia Tech’s offense took control, scoring seven unanswered goals. Junior Cassandra Montgomery contributed back-to-back goals during this stretch.

Wallich and Murrell each added another free position goal, while Lauren Render, Kamryn Henson, and Mia Pozzi also found the net once each. Henson recorded two assists in addition to her goal. Goalkeeper Malie Follet made seven saves during the match.

Looking ahead, Virginia Tech will return to Thompson Field to face No. 12 Duke Blue Devils for Senior Day on Saturday, March 21. The game is scheduled to begin at noon and will be available through ACCNX.
