Virginia Tech’s men’s tennis team lost to No. 21 North Carolina State, 4-0, on March 22.

The loss is significant as it marks another challenging outing for the Hokies against a nationally ranked opponent.

During doubles play, Virginia Tech’s Blake Hilsen and Eyal Shumilov were trailing 4-5 against Martin Borisiouk and Jules Leroux, who are ranked No. 21 in doubles. Their match was left unfinished as NC State secured the early doubles point elsewhere.

In singles competition, Virginia Tech was unable to shift momentum and dropped three consecutive matches, allowing NC State to clinch the overall victory without conceding a point.

Looking ahead, Virginia Tech will continue its series of away games with an upcoming match against Miami on Friday, March 27 at noon.

The team aims to regroup and seek improved results as their road stretch continues.
