Kristen Skiera and the Virginia Tech lacrosse team announced on May 21 the signing of midfielder Ava Menna. Menna joins Virginia Tech after playing three seasons at Liberty, where she appeared in 50 games and made 31 starts.

Menna brings experience in draw controls, having recorded a total of 276 during her career at Liberty. She has also caused 25 turnovers, collected 14 ground balls, and provided two assists for her team.

During the 2026 season, Menna started in 11 out of Liberty’s 16 games and ranked fourth in the ASUN conference for draw controls with an average of 5.56 per game. In her sophomore year, she achieved a personal best by recording 174 draws—the second-highest single-season tally in Liberty’s program history—and her career total ranks second all-time for the school.

Menna has also received academic recognition during her college career. She earned the CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal twice and was named to the ASUN All-Conference Second Team in 2025.

The addition of Menna is expected to strengthen Virginia Tech’s midfield presence as they prepare for upcoming seasons.
