The Virginia Tech Hokies men’s golf team finished in 13th place at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, which concluded on April 5. The tournament was held at Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia.

The event brought together collegiate teams for a competitive weekend of golf. Finishing with a total score of 862 (285-290-287), the Hokies ended the tournament two strokes under par.

Individually, Benjamin Baker and Gareth Steyn both tied for 45th place after finishing one stroke under par. Baker posted rounds of 69, 72, and 74, while Steyn carded scores of 72 in his first two rounds and a final round of 71. Aiden Patel also contributed to the team’s performance by finishing even par over three rounds.

North Carolina, ranked No.16 nationally, won the team title after posting an impressive final round score that put them at a combined total well ahead of other teams. Sihan Sandhu led North Carolina with individual rounds of 68, 67, and an outstanding final round of 66 to secure the individual championship with a total score of fifteen under par.

The Hokies are scheduled to compete next week at the Lewis Chitengwa Invitational in Charlottesville.
