2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 111 9th-grade students welcomed in Floyd County schools

There were 111 9th-grade students enrolled in Floyd County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 32.3% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Floyd County High School was the only school that welcomed 9th-grade students in the county.

Within Floyd County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Floyd County ranked 100th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 101st the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
