Montgomery County is seeking public input as it develops a county-wide transportation plan. An open house is being held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept., 29, in the Multipurpose Room of the Montgomery County Government Center located at 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Va.
The Montgomery County Transportation Plan, also known as Transportation Matters, is intended to help establish the County's priorities, policies, and goals for its transportation network. It evaluated the existing transportation facilities, sets clear steps for improvement, and will offer guidance for implementation and intergovernmental cooperation. Special consideration has been given to enhancing multimodal transportation options such as biking and walking and establishing a transportation network that supports the County's overall land use vision.
The meeting to review draft recommendations is being held in an open house format to allow attendees to come and go at their own convenience. Information boards and public comment stations will be set up in the room throughout the day.
If you are unable to participate in the open house and would like to provide feedback, please visit the project website.
