Southwest Virginia Community College issued the following announcement on June 14.
The Southwest Virginia Community College Virginia Highlands Community College Cooperative Radiography Program recently celebrated its 44th Radiography Pinning Ceremony on May 13, 2021. The celebration of successful completion of the radiography program took place in front of the Higher Education Center on the Virginia Highlands Community College campus in Abingdon, Virginia. There were fourteen students who were recognized and received their pins from program faculty. Dr. Brian Wright was the guest speaker for the afternoon’s drive-in celebration.
The students from the radiography class of 2021 are Arianna Allen, Melissa Adkins, Makayla Erwin, Caleb Estep, Abigail Farmer, Holly Fleenor, Laurel Hearst, Allison Heath, Sierra Kern, Joanna Mahala, Madison Mathis, Felicia Maxwell, James Parker, and Kimberly Skeen.
The 2018 Outstanding Radiography Student Award was presented to Felicia Maxwell. This award is presented each year to a deserving student based on input from fellow student radiographers, clinical staff, and program faculty.
