The Radford women’s golf team remained in second place after completing the second round of stroke play at the Big South Championship on April 20. The tournament is being held at Ocean Creek, a par-72 course measuring 6,032 yards.

The team’s strong finish came after a challenging start on the front nine. Caroline Gilreath led Radford in round two with a three-over score, tying for eighth among all individual golfers. She recorded two birdies during her round, one early on hole seven and another late on hole sixteen.

Mckenzie Weddle continued her consistent performance for Radford with a five-over round that kept her tied for eighth overall through two rounds. Weddle opened with four straight pars but faced difficulties between holes five and eight before recovering over the final nine holes. She made one birdie in round two and played par on six of her last eight holes.

Grace Addison matched her first-round result with another five-over showing, placing her fifteenth individually after two rounds. Macy Johnson completed the scoring for Radford by playing par on seven of her final nine holes to finish eight-over for the day.

After being tied with Winthrop following the first round, Radford moved ahead by two strokes to secure its hold on second place behind High Point. UNC Asheville improved significantly from day one, reducing their total by twelve strokes to tie Longwood for fourth place out of nine teams competing.

The third and final round of stroke play will take place tomorrow. The top four teams will advance to match play, with live results available through RadfordAthletics.com.
