Radford women’s golf finishes sixth at Kingsmill Intercollegiate tournament

The Radford women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, according to a March 24 announcement. Caroline Gilreath and Grace Addison led the Highlanders with strong individual performances, both placing among the top competitors.

The tournament featured 15 teams and 92 golfers. After the first round, Radford was ranked third overall with a score of +13. Mckenzie Weddle contributed significantly in this round, scoring just one over par thanks to a birdie on hole 12 and an eagle on hole 9. Gilreath recorded three birdies in her opening round, finishing three over par.

In subsequent rounds, Radford maintained its position among the top three teams before slipping back to finish sixth overall. Addison posted Radford’s best individual result in the final round by scoring two over par and securing ninth place individually. Gilreath followed closely behind, tying for eleventh place.

Other notable performances included Shea Smith and Macy Johnson who had solid first rounds at four-over and five-over respectively. Kaitlyn Mosdell competed as an individual and finished just outside of Radford’s top five after her opening round.

Looking ahead, Radford will close out its regular season by competing in the Golfweek/Stifel Challenge at Pawley’s Island, South Carolina from April 6 through April 8.
