On Friday, April 18, former Blacksburg High School standouts Katey Mathena and Lorelei Spradlin’s current college team, the Carson-Newman Eagles, lost 14-11 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears.

The game took place at McCrorie Family Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Bears this season.

The Eagles’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 25 at 11:55 a.m. at The Vick against Tusculum Pioneers.
