Jaylen Curry will join the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team for the 2026-27 season, the program announced on May 26. Mike Young, head coach of the Hokies, confirmed that Curry has signed with the team.
Curry, a 6-foot-1 guard from Charlotte, recently completed his junior year at Oklahoma State. He started seven times in 31 games and averaged 10.1 points per game. During the past season, Curry scored in double figures on 19 occasions and had a streak of seven consecutive games with double-digit points late in the season. His highest scoring performance was a 30-point game against Nicholls in November, where he made eight out of eleven field goals and converted all twelve free throw attempts. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for Oklahoma State.
Before transferring to Oklahoma State, Curry began his collegiate career at UMass. Over two seasons there, he started in twenty-five out of fifty-four games played and averaged ten and a half points per game overall, including an average of fourteen point two points during his sophomore year.
The announcement comes as Virginia Tech continues to build its roster ahead of future seasons under Young’s leadership.
