Delegate Chris Obenshain, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, recently shared several posts on his Twitter account ranging from condolences for a colleague to commentary on international sports. Obenshain, a Republican elected in 2024 to represent Virginia’s 41st House district, posted these messages between February 19 and February 23, 2026.
On February 19, Obenshain expressed his sorrow at the loss of fellow legislator Barry Knight. In his words: “I am devastated to hear of the passing of Delegate Barry Knight.
Barry was a prince of a man, a consummate professional, and someone who lived to serve others and our Commonwealth. I was truly honored to learn from him and to serve alongside him.
May God bless and comfort his” (posted February 19, 2026).
Shifting focus two days later, Obenshain commented on developments in European football involving Bundesliga club Werder Bremen: “Let’s be real here, Bremen are 16th in the Bundesliga. They are canceling the tour because they might get relegated and they don’t have the money to afford it.” (posted February 22, 2026).
On February 23, he turned his attention to international athletics with praise for American athletes’ performance: “Just incredible. What an Olympics for Team USA! “ (posted February 23, 2026).
Obenshain assumed office following his election in November 2024 after defeating Eileen Filler-Corn in Virginia’s District 41 race.
