Delegate Chris Obenshain recently shared a series of tweets expressing his reflections on fatherhood and his involvement in civic education. The posts, dated June 15 and 16, 2025, provide insight into both his personal life and professional engagements.
On June 15, Obenshain extended warm wishes for Father’s Day to fathers everywhere. He emphasized the significance of fatherhood by stating, “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. You play such an important role in the life and upbringing of your children. Fatherhood is the hardest and greatest job you will ever have. Never forget to be thankful for the blessing of being a dad.”
Later that day, he reflected on his own experiences as a father. He described being a parent as both challenging and rewarding: “The greatest challenge and blessing of my life is being dad to these three unique and amazing boys.” He expressed gratitude towards his “heavenly father,” other fathers who inspire him, and acknowledged his wife for her support.
On June 16, Obenshain attended Boys State at Radford University where he engaged with young men about government systems and shared insights from his diverse roles: “It is always great to be at @radfordu for Boys State! I enjoyed talking to hundreds of young men from across our Commonwealth this morning about our system of government and my work as a dad, a prosecutor, an Army Reservist, and a legislator.”
