Delegate Chris Obenshain, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates and a longtime officer in the U.S. Army JAG Corps, recently shared several updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account covering community achievements, military milestones, and local concerns.
On July 28, 2025, Obenshain extended congratulations to a local high school golf team, writing: “Congratulations to the @BburgHSBruins boys golf team on winning the PGA National Invitational tournament at Pinehurst last week. What an incredible achievement!”
The following day, July 29, he commemorated a significant anniversary for the U.S. Army JAG Corps. Obenshain posted: “A very happy 250th birthday today to the U.S. Army JAG Corps! After serving 6 years as an enlisted soldier, I have spent the past 16 years as an officer in the JAG Corps. I’m blessed to have served alongside so many inspiring attorneys, paralegals, and fellow soldiers.” The U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps is responsible for providing legal services to soldiers and military leadership and has played a vital role in military justice since its establishment in 1775.
On July 30, Obenshain addressed an incident involving violence against a public official: “This is horrible. This type of violence has no place in society. My prayers are with Councilman Vogler and I hope that the perpetrator of this vile attack is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Obenshain’s background includes over two decades of service in both enlisted and officer roles within the military legal system.
