Delegate Chris Obenshain, a Republican elected in 2024 to represent Virginia’s 41st House district, has recently shared several updates on his social media account. His posts cover both political commentary and local weather observations in Blacksburg.
On January 22, 2026, Obenshain criticized proposed changes to voting districts in Virginia, writing: “This language is positively Orwellian. There nothing ‘fair’ about carving up communities of interest and stealing the voice of rural voters. Virginians did the right thing by killing gerrymandering in 2020 and they should vote ‘No’ on April 21 to keep it from coming back.”
Two days later, on January 24, he commented on winter weather conditions in Blacksburg with the post: “Flakes starting to fall in Blacksburg. #Snowmageddon2026”
On January 25, Obenshain noted the evening atmosphere in Blacksburg by stating: “The man upstairs is showing off here in Blacksburg this evening.”
Obenshain succeeded Eileen Filler-Corn as representative for Virginia’s 41st House district following his election in 2024.
