Chris Obenshain, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 representing the 41st district, shared several messages on his Twitter account over Memorial Day weekend and the following days.
On May 25, Obenshain marked Memorial Day by stating, “On this Memorial Day we stop and honor those whose sacrifice makes freedom possible. We remember.”
The following evening, May 26, he expressed gratitude for being invited to speak at an event hosted by the American Legion Post 59 in Christiansburg. He wrote, “Thank you to @AmericanLegion Post 59 for the invitation to deliver remarks this evening in Christiansburg. It was an honor for me and my family to spend time remembering our fallen brothers and sisters and calling us to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.”
Later on May 26, Obenshain voiced support for the national soccer team ahead of the World Cup with a message reading, “Let’s go, Team USA! #WorldCup2026”
Obenshain began serving as delegate after winning election in 2024 and succeeding Eileen Filler-Corn as representative of Virginia’s 41st House district.
