Bree Carrico and Jordan Lynch earned a trio of All-American honors following strong performances in the 2026 season, according to a May 27 announcement from Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Softball.

Lynch was named a First Team All-American by both D1 Softball and Softball America, and received Second Team honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Carrico was selected as a Third Team All-American by the NFCA and recognized as a Freshman All-American by D1 Softball and Softball America.

Lynch led the team with a .414 batting average, topping the Hokies in runs (70), hits (84), home runs (18), total bases (174), and slugging percentage (.808). She started all 60 games at third base, recorded 26 multi-hit games, and held a team-best 16-game hitting streak from February 13 to March 7. Lynch also hit .402 in Atlantic Coast Conference play with team-leading marks in hits (35) and home runs (10). She was awarded ACC Player of the Week after hitting .583 with three home runs and ten RBIs during Virginia Tech’s sweep at Boston College. Her single-season statistics place her second in program history for hits, runs scored, doubles, and total bases; her home run tally ranks fifth.

Carrico led Virginia Tech pitchers with a 1.88 earned run average while posting a 15-2 record over 115.2 innings pitched. The redshirt freshman struck out 126 batters, allowed just 31 earned runs, held opponents to a .201 batting average on the season, and led the team with five saves. She was an NFCA Freshman of the Year Top Ten Finalist.

Carrico also earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors along with First Team All-ACC recognition after posting a conference ERA of 1.93—third among ACC pitchers—and earning national freshman accolades for her performance against NC State and Longwood. At season’s end, Carrico’s .882 winning percentage set a new program record; her five saves ranked second all-time for single-season records at Virginia Tech.

Carrico and Lynch are now among six Hokies who have been recognized as All-Americans by the NFCA since 2024.
